Blue Guardian, an AI-driven system, detects potential mental health concerns in children by analyzing the text and content they view, providing early warning notifications to families. We are looking for a skilled Machine Learning Intern to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing content-based recommendation systems for our platform. This involves analyzing user data, identifying patterns, and using machine learning algorithms to generate personalized recommendations for our users. The ideal candidate will have experience in data analysis, machine learning, and software development.

Key Responsibilities:

-Collaborate with product managers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand user needs and requirements.

-Design and implement content-based recommendation systems using machine learning techniques.

-Analyze user behaviour data and identify patterns to generate personalized recommendations.

-Optimize recommendation algorithms to improve user engagement and satisfaction.

-Evaluate the performance of recommendation systems using A/B testing and other metrics.

-Work with the software development team to integrate recommendation systems into our platform.

-Stay up-to-date with the latest machine learning techniques and research.

Requirements:

-Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.

-Strong background in machine learning and data analysis.

-Experience with programming languages such as Python.

-Familiarity with machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.

-Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Hive.

-Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

-Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Experience with natural language processing (NLP) and/or computer vision.

-Knowledge of recommendation algorithms such as collaborative filtering, matrix factorization, and item-to-item similarity.

-Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

-Understanding of software engineering best practices, such as version control, code review, and unit testing.

Job Type: Internship / Co-op
Contract length: 10 weeks

Salary: $17.50 per hour
